Menu elements within CANVAS can be stacked vertically or horizontally depending on the type of menu and placement. 

Horizontal Menus

Menu elements stacked horizontally cannot exceed a single line and must be styled as buttons with space in between. Your site’s main navigation is the only exception to this.

Main Navigation

The default style for the main navigation is to represent each main menu item as a button. The Button format (as displayed in this diagram) features a row of standard buttons with spacing. 





Vertical Menus

The style of vertically stacked menu elements can vary depending on page and functionality and can include items such as subnavigation and filtering. Detailed below are the two most common vertical menus on CANVAS.
